What the FedEx form asks for
We read FedEx's own blank Commercial Invoice form (the US form, revision "REV. 04.10.13-1.08"). The table above lists every field of that form and its label. The generator uses the same labels, so your file reads like the FedEx form.
A few fields only the FedEx form has:
- Parties to Transaction: related or non-related. Say whether the parties to the sale are related.
- Duties and Taxes Payable by: the exporter, the consignee or someone else.
- Payment Terms: for example, 30 days.
Two lines from the form
The form opens with "This invoice must be completed in English." Fill in the descriptions in English, even when you ship to a country that speaks another language.
It closes with a declaration that the signer makes: "I declare that all the information contained in this invoice to be true and correct." This tool prints it at the foot of the file, with the name and title you enter.
Before you ship
- Describe each item: what it is, what it is made of, and what it is for.
- Give the country where the goods were made, not where they leave from.
- Check that the invoice total matches what the buyer paid, with freight and insurance if you charge them.
For the fields of other carriers, see the commercial invoice page.
