Describe each item: what it is, what it is made of and what it is for. The HS code and the country of origin are the ones the goods have, not the ones of the shipper.

InvoiceCow does not store what you type. The file is made once and sent to your browser.

What the UPS form asks for

We read UPS's own blank Invoice form and its guide to the form. The table above lists every field of the form and its label. The generator uses the same labels: "From", "Ship To", "Sold To", "Waybill Number", "Terms of Sale (Incoterm)" and the rest.

How many copies

UPS's guide says: "Three signed copies – one original and two copies – are required and should be included with your shipment." Print the PDF three times and sign each copy.

What UPS says about each field

  • Waybill Number: the tracking number on your label. With more than one package, UPS asks for "the lead or first tracking number".
  • Reason for Export: UPS calls it "particularly important", for example a sale, a gift or an item for repair.
  • Description of Goods: "WHAT IT IS • WHAT MATERIALS IT’S MADE OF • WHAT THE ITEM IS USED FOR".
  • C/O: "the country where the goods were manufactured or assembled NOT the country they are being shipped from".
  • Total Weight: "the shipment weight including packaging".

The UPS form also has a "Discount/Rebate" line between the line total and the sub-total. This tool has no discount line: enter the discounted unit value instead.

For the fields of other carriers, see the commercial invoice page.
